Despite being a hockey fan for nearly 30 years, I’d never been to the Hockey Hall of Fame. So visiting Toronto had been on my radar for a while especially since I only remember driving through it many moons ago. Although, according to my mom, it wasn’t a drive through and we spent days there in 1985, which I clearly have no recollection of.
And while Chuck had been there previously, it’d been nearly 30 years since he’d gone there as well. So a friend trip was born and we headed up there for a long weekend.
The first order of business was dinner and drinks in downtown Toronto followed by a stroll and some ice cream in the Distillery District.
The next morning, we had breakfast at the hotel, then headed to the Hockey Hall of Fame! I was so excited!

After getting our fill of all things hockey, we headed to St. Lawrence Market for lunch. What a cool market!

That evening we went to Georgian House for some authentic Georgian food. It was delicious!

After dinner we wandered thru Graffiti Alley.

Next we visited a huge Asian grocery store where we bought a few snacks and treats.
Later that evening, we found a little hidden bar. They have a menu, but they are known for concocting something unique based on your preferences. We each got a different thing, and while I enjoyed mine, I’m not sure I’d order it again. Was so fun to try though! And I’d love to go back to see what they make for me next.

The next day, we attended the Canadian International Air Show. We had gorgeous weather for it and had a great time seeing the different aircraft perform. We even got to see the Canadian Forces Snowbirds before they take a 4 year hiatus. Super cool!

After that, we strolled through the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) before heading back to the hotel for a shower and a bit of rest.

For dinner, we headed to the Waterfront where we had great views of the city and water. And then we walked the 20 minutes or so thru downtown back to our hotel.

The next morning, we headed to a local bar/restaurant for breakfast and to watch the F1 Race – can’t miss the race!

And then it was time to check out, go to the airport, and head home. At the airport, we had great views of them staging the aircraft for the air show and it was really cool watching them prep, head out, and return.

Overall we had a really good time exploring the city. Next time, I need to go back for some hockey games!
